About the role Join Shoprite as a Grad and Youth Programme Administrator delivering vital administrative support within the Human Resources function. This role requires expertise in administration, data accuracy, and collaborative communication to efficiently manage graduate and youth recruitment programmes. You will coordinate career fairs, process documentation, maintain compliance with labour legislation including POPI Act, and ensure seamless data and document management to ensure that all People activities are recorded and traceable. The role also renders additional ad hoc support services as required within the function.
What you'll do* Deliver comprehensive administrative support to Graduate and Youth Recruitment Consultants, ensuring accurate and timely management of all programme documentation.
- Coordinate and facilitate career fairs, recruitment events, and induction sessions to enhance programme engagement and visibility.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to POPI Act regulations when handling sensitive employee and candidate information.
- Organise, file, and update all relevant records and data within official systems, ensuring accuracy and ease of access.
- Assist in gathering and analysing performance feedback for learners and graduates to support continuous programme improvement.
- Respond promptly to recruitment-related queries, collaborating effectively with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- Manage stock control and procurement of stationery and supplies within the People function to support operational continuity.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance administrative efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure all administrative activities comply with applicable labour laws and organisational policies.
- Contribute to team initiatives that promote employee wellbeing, open communication, and a positive workplace culture.
What you bring
- Diploma in Administration or Human Resources, or equivalent - (highly beneficial).
- Grade 12, National Senior Certificate (essential)
- 1-2 years' experience in an administrative role with exposure to Human Resources (essential)
Experience within FMCG, retail, or related sectors (preferred)

- Strong knowledge of labour legislation including POPI Act compliance
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Demonstrated accuracy in data entry, documentation, and record management
- Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments and external stakeholders
