About the role

The Grade B Security Officer (Point Waterfront) is responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the assigned security site and maintaining high standards of security, safety and service delivery.

The role is responsible for providing effective security services, identifying and responding appropriately to security risks, addressing staff and client concerns, and ensuring that all duties are performed in accordance with the Site Job Description, company policies, procedures and applicable security industry requirements.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, sound judgement, professionalism, integrity and excellent communication skills. The individual must be able to work effectively with clients, employees, management and members of the public while maintaining a professional approach at all times.

What you will bring

Qualifications

• PSIRA Grade B registration.
• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Valid handgun firearm competency.

Experience, Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 5 years’ experience within the security industry.
• 3–5 years’ experience liaising directly with clients regarding security-related matters.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or senior security role.
• Strong knowledge of security industry regulations and operational requirements.
• Experience identifying and responding to security risks and incidents.
• Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage professionally with clients, employees, management and members of the public.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
• Strong customer service and client relationship skills.
• Ability to compile and submit detailed reports.
• Professional personal hygiene and appearance appropriate for a client-facing environment.
• Physically fit and able to perform duties on-site.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What you will be doing

• Enforce and adhere to the Company’s Disciplinary Code of Conduct, policies, procedures and operational standards.
• Ensure the effective and efficient operation of the assigned security site.
• Ensure that all security duties are performed in accordance with the applicable Site Job Description.
• Maintain adequate security coverage and ensure that security operations are conducted effectively.
• Identify and respond appropriately to security risks, incidents and irregularities.
• Handle and resolve staff and client complaints professionally.
• Communicate effectively with staff, clients, management and members of the public regarding security-related matters.
• Report security-related incidents, risks and irregularities promptly to the relevant stakeholders.
• Take a proactive approach to identifying and addressing security concerns.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable security industry requirements.
• Maintain professional relationships with clients and uphold high standards of client service.
• Provide leadership and guidance to security personnel where required.
• Exercise sound judgement when dealing with security-related matters and incidents.
• Compile and submit accurate reports relating to security operations, incidents and irregularities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to security operations.
• Support the effective operation and service delivery of the assigned site.
• Maintain professional communication when interacting with employees, clients and other stakeholders.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as required in support of effective site operations.
