Graduate Internship (12-month, fixed-term contract)

We are looking for a graduate who seeks hands-on, corporate experience in Energy and Utility Management. This exciting opportunity is available at PEP for an individual with a technical background and a passion for electrical systems, data analysis, and infrastructure support.

PEP is South Africa’s largest, single-brand retailer with more than 2600 stores across Southern Africa. While we do not expect an intern to be an expert on day one, we are looking for a dedicated learner who is eager to support our technical management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handling of store beverage fridges: callouts & replacements.
• Identifying fridge replacement needs and preparing for approval.
• Electricity usage data analysis.
• Electricity anomaly reporting.
• Assisting with centre backup power proposals.
• Assisting with generator replacements.
• Handling calls regarding store amplifiers and speakers.

JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS

• Technical background with a focus on Electrical (Diploma or Degree).
• Knowledge of refrigeration would be an advantage.
• South African citizen (Ages 18 - 32).
• Computer Literacy (MS Office, Google Suite).
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• High degree of detail orientation and conscientiousness.
• Problem-solving ability and resourcefulness.
• Ability to work in a team and deliver on deadlines.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Infrastructure Support: Manage store fridge callouts, replacements, and amplifier/speaker support.
• Data Analysis: Monitor and report on electricity usage, identifying consumption anomalies.
• Project Assistance: Support the preparation of backup power and generator replacement proposals.
• Process Improvement: Identify replacement needs for store equipment and assist with approval documentation.
