Job description
What will you be doing? We have an exciting learning opportunity for an Graduate: Risk , which will include exposure, understanding and application of the following:
- This internship programme spans over a 12-month period and is a great opportunity for a young person who is motivated by self-development, together with commitment and drive towards learning.
- To co-ordinate and support health, safety, and food safety within Premier Salt River Bakery to be responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing company's employee safety at work. The main duty is to ensure that the company complies and adheres to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) guidelines to reduce work-related injuries and ensure compliance with Food Safety standards
Essential Skills And Competence
- Plan and implement SHEQ policies and programs
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
- Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Work with HR to set up a new employee on-boarding process for safety
- Conduct risk assessments
- Enforce preventative measures
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
- Check if all the employees are acting in adherence with rules and regulations
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employees' safety
- Raw material risk assessments updates (Liaison with Food safety officer at HO)
Essential Requirements
- Advanced Diploma in Occupational health & Safety
- Advanced Diploma in Risk management/Safety management
- SHE Knowledge in Occupational Health, Safety, Environmental and Food Safety legislation.
- Business policies, procedures, and processes
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Analytical thinking and problem solving
- Communication and teamwork
- Innovation and continuous improvement
- Required to work a 6-day week & overtime as required
