Samsara Africa Travel is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven Ground Operations Manager to lead and coordinate our daily operational movements in Cape Town. This central role ensures our premium service standards are consistently upheld for our high-end, international clientele.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Coordination & Service Allocation

• Logistics Management: Oversee all daily ground logistics, including service allocation, vehicle planning, and chauffeur scheduling.
• Real-Time Adjustments: Adapt schedules efficiently to accommodate operational changes, traffic delays, or last-minute itinerary adjustments.
• Punctuality & Standards: Ensure all departures occur on schedule while maintaining Samsara’s premium brand standards.
• Route Intelligence: Monitor Cape Town’s road conditions, traffic patterns, weather, and local safety alerts to guide chauffeurs along the safest and most efficient routes.

Chauffeur Supervision & Communication

• Operational Support: Maintain availability during designated operational hours to provide real-time coordination and support for route movements.
• Performance Oversight: Monitor chauffeur performance, route efficiency, and adherence to professional standards throughout the day.
• Clear Communication: Deliver prompt updates, operational instructions, and logistical support to the driving team.

Fleet Oversight & Quality Control

• Compliance Documentation: Ensure all staff driving credentials (PrDPs, driver’s licenses) remain valid and compliant.
• Maintenance Tracking: Monitor vehicle service intervals and manage all service-related bookings and follow-ups.
• Fleet Health: Coordinate tire rotations, wheel balancing, and preventative vehicle health management.
• Damage Reporting: Track, document, and manage resolutions for any vehicle maintenance requirements or physical damages.
• Presentation Standards: Conduct regular inspections to uphold fleet readiness and ensure car wash/detailing standards reflect Samsara’s luxury brand image.

Safety, Compliance & Standards

• Maintain strict alignment with operational safety guidelines and company protocols.
• Uphold Samsara’s service culture and professional environment.
• Collaborate with the Operations Management team to identify workflow efficiencies and implement improved systems.

Professional Requirements

• Industry Experience: Proven background in hospitality operations, tourism logistics, ground handling, or fleet management.
• Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to multitask and manage complex logistics effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to remain composed under pressure and deliver swift, effective logistical solutions.
• Communication: Exceptional professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license (highly advantageous).
• Geographical Knowledge: Comprehensive familiarity with Cape Town routes, the Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Winelands, Peninsula routes, and airport logistics.
