Job description

CCG Systems is an ICT sector and is well known to specialize in the implementation and support of ERP systems as well as Payroll & HR Systems to which our clients are made of mostly Municipalities throughout South Africa. Our company is looking for a potential candidate to join our Finance team in the capacity of a Group Accountant, to be based at our Head Office.

The Group Accountant is responsible for ensuring the effective financial management, reporting, and compliance of the group of companies. This role supports the CFO in managing the group’s financial health and integrity, providing consolidated financial insights, and ensuring robust financial operations across subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will drive process standardization, strengthen internal controls, and support the execution of strategic financial initiatives.

Formal Qualification requirements

  • BCom Accounting or equivalent; CA(SA) or CIMA qualification preferred

Legal Requirements

  • Valid code B driver’s license and own transport
  • Passed credit and criminal checks S.A Citizen, Resident or Valid S.A Work Permit

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 7–10 years’ progressive experience in an Accountant role.
  • Experience in a group structure with multi-entity consolidation.
  • Professional services, consulting, or financial systems industry experience is advantageous.

Financial Reporting & Consolidation

  • Prepare accurate and timely consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Support statutory reporting, audits, and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Develop and maintain group-wide reporting templates and dashboards.
  • Oversee the preparation of consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Present financial performance reports to senior management and the board.
  • Oversee the preparation of group consolidated financial statements for all business units and subsidiaries.
  • Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
  • Monitor financial performance and provide reports to senior management.
  • Oversee that the financial reporting requirements of Group are met (quality and deadlines) for month end, quarterly reporting, interim and year end.
  • Review of monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual reporting to ensure that Group’ s financial statements are valid, accurate and complete and comply to the relevant accounting standards, policies and procedures
  • Review of consolidated trial balance and the chair the Finance teams review of the consolidated trial balance
  • Co-ordinate all external audits (interim and year-end) and internal audits ensuring that no major reporting items exist.
  • Review of all the general ledger reconciliations, journals and inter/intra company transactions that impact on the Group Financial statements
  • Ensure all Group reporting requirements are met timeously

Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Monitoring

  • Coordinate the annual budget process across group entities.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast and prepare variance analyses.
  • Support business units in financial planning and scenario analysis
  • Identify trends and provide insights for business decision-making.
  • Manage the group budgeting process and monitor budget performance.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Implement cost-control measures to improve profitability.
  • Lead the group budgeting and forecasting process across departments.
  • Analyze financial results and explain budget vs actual variances.
  • Support strategic planning through financial modeling and forecasting.
  • Monitor and manage group cash flow, liquidity, and funding requirements.
  • Oversee banking relationships and financing arrangements.
  • Manage financial risk including foreign exchange and credit risk
  • Monitor group cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
  • Manage banking relationships and financial transactions.
  • Oversee payment processes and collections through ERP systems
