Job description
We are seeking a Group HR Director to lead our people function in Africa. This role is responsible for enabling the organization to achieve its strategic and financial objectives through high-level organizational design and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Oversight: Ensure business plans account for people and organizational issues that impact performance.
- Organizational Design: Drive efficiency by reviewing structures and implementing restructuring initiatives across business units.
- Leadership Talent: Manage recruitment, succession planning, and performance for senior leadership and critical roles.
- Health & Safety: Drive improvements in H&S performance and oversee the implementation of safety training programs.
- Governance & Compensation: Oversee executive compensation, pay reviews, and investigate serious ethical, legal, or compliance issues.
- Operational Standards: Monitor HR service performance across business units and implement global HR programs and standards.
Candidate Requirements
- Education: A relevant formal tertiary qualification is required, with an MBA, Post Grad, Masters highly beneficial
- Experience: 8+ years of leadership experience in a large, dispersed multi-national corporation is essential for success in this role
- Specialized Knowledge: Proven experience in employee relations strategy and leading Health & Safety programs.
- Competencies: Strong business acumen, resilience, and the ability to operate effectively in a diverse cultural environment .
