Job description

Underberg Stores has been established for over 24 years and has built a great reputation, both nationally and in the local area. We are looking for a full-time bookkeeper to work approximately 45 hours a week. Applicants must be prepared to work shifts, and public holidays.

Tasks and duties will include and not limited to**:**

· Capture and process all expense creditors invoices / credit notes, and debtors payments

· Prepare and pay weekly and monthly creditors

· Reconcile all creditors to statement and monthly sending of statements to debtors

· Customer and Supplier liaison

· Maintain creditors portal

· Allocate GRV suspense items daily

· Supplier’s commissions entered weekly

· Balance GRV’d invoices imported daily

· Scan and save creditors invoices into File Director

· Reconciling cash and floats daily

· Daily allocation of bank suspense items

· Entering petty cash monthly

· Importing of bank statement daily

· Daily credit card control reconciles

· Auditing of inventory database to supplier purchases

· Data Capturing into central stock data base.

· Capturing Stocktakes

· Querying and Investigating stock takes

· Data integrity out of stock systems.

· Managing a team of data capturers and GRV operators.

· Ensuring the validity of data being fed through to the accounting software.

· Capturing promotions

· Checking the credibility and accuracy of all invoices.

· Monitor product set ups on the system.

· Monitor stock movement through the store cycle.

· Ensure that stock and costs are allocated to departments in the store.

To successfully secure this opportunity, you must:

· Be an experienced bookkeeper

· Have at least 3 years of experience

  • Be computer and Microsoft literate
  • Be a team player
  • Be able to work under pressure
  • Have a valid driver’s license
  • Be focused and reliable
