Job description
We are looking for a Group Schemes Manager to join our Alternative Distribution team. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the Group Scheme team, driving the promotion and sales of AVBOB Group Funeral Insurance products while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, business growth and strong stakeholder relationships.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Leading and managing the Group Scheme team to achieve business and performance objectives.

Driving sales, production, client acquisition and retention initiatives in line with growth targets.

Developing and implementing strategies for the Group Funeral business

Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation, including FSCA regulations, the Data Protection Act and Anti-Money Laundering requirements.

Overseeing scheme profitability, membership, claims ratios, premium payments and operational efficiencies.

Managing group insurance contracts, including negotiations, tenders, service level agreements and periodic contract reviews.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with employers, associations, administrators, brokers, consultants and other key stakeholders.

Working with internal stakeholders, including Actuarial, to evaluate complex quotations and tenders.

Managing client complaints and providing guidance on benefits, claims procedures and policy coverage.

Overseeing the financial management and budgeting of the Group Scheme Office.

Preparing and presenting monthly management reports covering production, trends, growth opportunities, challenges and strategic recommendations.

Leading recruitment, performance management and development of Group Scheme Consultants.

A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Sales and/or relevant FAIS credits.

At least 5 years’ knowledge and management experience in the Group Scheme Market or Employee Benefits Market, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role.

A valid Code 08 driver’s licence and willingness to travel.

In-depth knowledge of group insurance products, regulations and industry best practices.

Strong analytical, financial, communication, negotiation and contract management skills.

Proficiency in relevant software applications, including Microsoft Excel and insurance administration platforms.
