Requirements

• Have atleast 3 years’ experience within a security Control Room in a mining environment.
• Have a knowledge of the various systems monitored in a Control Room such as CCTV surveillance, alarm systems, X-Ray Viewing Systems, Access Control Systems, intercom systems, radio and telephone systems
• Be declared Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
• Be in a possession of valid PSIRA Grade C certificate.
• Have a Clear security screening record.
• Be in a possession of NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults)

Key Responsibilities

• Notify and dispatch reaction teams to incidents, emergency situations and irregularities detected via any of the systems monitored from the Central Command and Control Centre
• Record suspicious behaviour and incidents for logging, review and investigation
• Report any faulty systems to Supervisor.
• Write statements on incidents or events detected.
• Monitor internal panic alarms and respond as per alarm handling procedure
• Evidence gathering in the event of an incident within the designated area of responsibility.
• Monitor adherence to procedures and standards and report all deviations to Supervisor
• CCTV surveillance monitoring with the aim of detecting any risks and movement of suspicious and / or criminal activities within range of cameras
• Evaluate actions and potential security breaches with reference to departmental best practice requirements and mine regulations through all available systems in place at the Central Command and Control Centre
• ispatching of response teams to irregularities, alarms and events.
• X-Ray System viewing.
• Electronic Occurrence Book incident capturing.
• Reporting of System Faults to shift Supervisor
• Reviewing of historically recorded CCTV Surveillance footage related to incidents that have occurred.
• Alarm and intrusion detection system event handling.
• Investigative observation of cameras related to alarms and events triggered by the available systems
• Tasked / focussed observation of “Hot-Spot” areas that are prone to attacks by criminals and high-risk processes with the aim of detecting irregularities, breach of policies and procedures and criminal activity. Detecting irregularities, breach of policies and procedures and criminal activities.
• Random / routine observation of the entire respective operational area, with the aim of detecting irregularities, breach of policies and procedures and criminal activity. Dispatching of reaction team members to incidents

Job Purpose

• To prevent and deter crime and security incidents by enforcing Legislation and Sibanye Stillwater’s Policy, Procedures and rules. To monitor and protect Sibanye Stillwater Assets and Employees at the various operations where SPS deploys.
