Guest House Manager

Position Summary

The Guest House Manager is responsible for the overall management of Kleine Banhoek Manor, ensuring an exceptional luxury guest experience while achieving financial and operational objectives. The role requires a hands-on leader who oversees daily operations, leads the team, maintains the property to the highest standards, and works closely with owners on revenue, marketing and commercial performance. As a boutique luxury property, the Manager is expected to actively engage with guests and support operational departments whenever required.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience

• Deliver personalized, five-star guest service throughout the guest journey.
• Welcome VIP and returning guests.
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor online reviews and implement service improvements.
• Ensure all guest interactions reflect the property's luxury positioning.

Operations

• Manage daily operations across Front Office, Housekeeping and Food & Beverage.
• Ensure all guest rooms and public areas meet brand standards.
• Conduct daily operational inspections.
• Oversee maintenance requirements and coordinate external contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

Financial Management

• Manage departmental budgets and operating expenses.
• Monitor labor costs and productivity.
• Control purchasing and stock levels.
• Assist in achieving revenue and profitability targets.
• Review daily revenue and occupancy reports.

Reservations & Revenue

• Manages reservations and guest communications.
• Work with owners/ PH on pricing and revenue strategies.
• Maximize direct bookings.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, train and develop team members.
• Conduct regular performance reviews.
• Prepare staff schedules.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Administration

• Prepare operational reports.
• Maintain supplier relationships.
• Ensure compliance with company policies.
• Manage licenses and statutory compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

Hospitality Diploma or Degree preferred.

Minimum 5 years' management experience in a luxury hotel, lodge or guest house.

Strong financial, leadership and communication skills.

Experience with hotel PMS systems.

Excellent guest relations and organisational ability.

Must have own vehicle.

Willing to work hospitality hours.

Pay: R35 000,00 - R40 000,00 per month
