Job description
A Handyman / maintenance supervisor oversees building repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility safety, combining hands-on technical repairs (plumbing, electrical, carpentry) with team supervision and administrative scheduling. They ensure building operates efficiently, manage work orders, coordinate contractors, and maintain health and safety standards.
3Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repairs: Perform or supervise plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.
- Management & Supervision: Schedule and supervise maintenance of staff, manage maintenance requests, and coordinate with contractors.
- Facility Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of buildings, machinery, and equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all work meets safety standards, including fire safety checks and equipment inspections.
- Administration: Maintain accurate records of repairs, inventory of tools and parts
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance, repairs, or a similar role.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry systems.
- Tools: Skilled in using hand and power tools.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills..
- License: Valid driver’s license
- Education: High school diploma or GED; technical certification is a plus
