• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Special Education, Disability Studies, Counselling, Educational Psychology, or Occupational Therapy (a relevant doctorate is preferred).
• Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) will be an added advantage.
• At least 8 years of proven leadership experience within a university setting, with strong knowledge of disability services and accommodations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex programs, budgets, and teams effectively.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a passion for empowering individuals with disabilities to succeed.

DUTIES

• Align the Disability Unit with the university’s strategic objectives and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Develop and implement the Unit’s strategy and annual operating plan.
• Provide guidance and support for students with disabilities, including academic adjustments and reasonable accommodations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage human resources, finances, and administrative processes within the Unit.
