Curro seeks to appoint Head of Department: CAT (full-time) at Curro DigiED Delft in Delft to commence duties in August 2026
Vacancy Reference: 29785 Curro is seeking to appoint a Head of Department: CAT to lead the department, manage subject educators, and uphold academic excellence. This role requires strong leadership, curriculum oversight, and active teaching responsibilities.

Key performance areas
- Curriculum planning & academics: Align subject policies with IEB and Curro requirements, oversee assessments, moderation, and systemic testing.
- Staff management: Interview, mentor, and manage subject teachers; conduct class visits; ensure compliance with policies and weekly extra lessons.
- Extra-curricular activities: Coordinate Olympiads, public speaking, entrepreneur’s days, and subject-related events.
- Reporting & meetings: Analyse results termly, compile reports, and collaborate with other Curro schools.
- Teaching & assessment: Deliver interactive lessons, set and moderate assessments, manage homework schedules, and track learner progress.
- Extramural coordination: Manage assigned extramural activities, attend fixtures, outings, and school events.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Minimum qualification: BEd degree and/or PGCE in FET phase education, with an honours degree in education (in the relevant subject/s) advantageous
- Experience: 3–5 years as Department/Subject Head, with exposure to multiple grades including Matric.
- Legal requirement: SACE registration.
- Skills: Microsoft Office, research, problem-solving, report writing, facilitation.
- Attributes: Communication, empathy, planning & organising, resilience, emotional control, attention to detail, mentoring.
Special Requirements
- Willingness to work overtime and additional hours when required.
