Job description
ROLE PURPOSE: As Head of Human Resources, you'll plan, direct and coordinate the administrative and strategic HR functions of the organisation — from recruitment and employee relations to payroll, performance management and HRIS. You'll act as a trusted advisor to our executive team, serving as the vital link between management and employees, and playing a hands-on role in shaping how our people grow, perform and thrive.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- At least 10 years' relevant HR experience
- HR/Payroll System Experience-preferably Sage 300
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of staff
- Strong listening, influencing and negotiation skills
- Unwavering respect for confidentiality
- A calm, fair approach to conflict management
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Align HR strategy with business needs — resource planning, cost management,policy and procedure maintenance, training, culture, employee engagement and efficient HR systems
- Partner with Heads of Department to implement people solutions that support business objectives.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment — sourcing, screening, negotiating and placing appropriately skilled candidates
- Own the onboarding and offboarding experience to ensure an excellent employee experience.
- Review and maintain HR SOPs, policies, organograms and job descriptions in conjunction with department heads
- Manage the performance appraisal cycle end-to-end, including manager and staff training and KPI development.
- Provide guidance on employee relations issues and manage industrial relations processes to ensure alignment to company values and culture
- Facilitate in-house training and staff career development
- Conduct salary reviews and recommendations in line with the salary levels and budgets
- Prepare and present the HR Report
- Lead ISO/AABB/SANAS audit preparation on personnel documentation and training
