Head of Human Resources

As the Senior Head of People , you will take the strategic and operational lead for our client’s rapidly growing Cape Town delivery hub. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will oversee multi-entity offshore people operations that support the UK and European business units.

Responsibilities

• Strategic People Leadership: Design, implement, and lead a scalable People strategy across all Cape Town shared service entities supporting UK and European operations.
• Global HR Operations & Alignment: Oversee the offshore HR team supporting international employee populations, ensuring consistent service delivery, policy governance, and seamless cross-border collaboration.
• Executive Business Partnering: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives and country directors on workforce planning, organisation design, leadership development, and change management.
• End-to-End Employee Lifecycle: Champion high standards across talent acquisition, onboarding, performance enablement, reward and recognition, employee relations, and offboarding.
• In-House Talent Acquisition: Establish and drive an agile in-house recruitment model to build robust talent pipelines and reduce reliance on third-party agencies.
• Employee Relations & Governance: Act as the senior escalation point for complex employee relations matters, ensuring robust compliance with South African labour legislation and international best practices.
• Performance & Culture: Foster an inclusive, high-performance culture through structured KPI frameworks, talent development initiatives, and proactive employee engagement programmes.
• People Analytics & Reporting: Develop data-driven workforce dashboards to provide executives with clear insights on headcount, attrition, productivity, and capacity planning.

Requirements

Must-Haves:

• Proven senior leadership experience leading a People / Human Resources function in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Demonstrated track record of building, scaling, and operationalising HR functions and frameworks across the full employee lifecycle.
• Strong expertise in South African labour legislation and complex Employee Relations (ER) management.
• Extensive experience in strategic workforce planning, organisation design, and executive stakeholder management.
• Proven background in establishing direct talent acquisition strategies and building scalable in-house recruitment capabilities.
• Exceptional commercial acumen, communication, and executive-level influencing skills.
