Role Purpose The Head of Investment Distribution – MDS is responsible for leading and executing the national Momentum Investment distribution strategy within MDS, ensuring alignment between the Investment product house and distribution objectives to deliver sustainable growth.

This role is the architect of Momentum’s distribution success – crafting, articulating, and executing comprehensive growth strategies that set the pace for the industry.

The incumbent partners closely with the CEO of MDS and Momentum Investments to align in a strategic direction, secure buy-in, and ensure delivery against annual financial and sales targets. At the core of the role is the enablement of the best Investment distribution force in South Africa, backed by a high-performing, adviser-centric distribution model.

We are looking for a seasoned distribution leader with a proven track record in investment management, someone who combines strategic vision with hands-on execution, skilled in business market development, investments, business strategy, sales management, people management, and who thrives on building high-performance teams. .

Requirements#### Qualifications

Degree in Finance, Marketing, or Business Management o Bachelor of Commerce Honours (preferred) o Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) (preferred)

Experience

• 7 to 10 years of experience in investment distribution

• 3 to 5 years of senior management experience in an investment distribution environment

• Exposure to IFA development and portfolio management o Knowledge of how legislation impacts the investment industry

• Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close

• Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets

Duties & Responsibilities#### Distribution strategy and growth

Drive distribution strategy and growth by re-imagining market approaches and unlocking new opportunities.

• Lead the execution of the investment distribution and product house strategy.

• Build and empower a high-performing, adviser-centric distribution model that expands and strengthens the independent financial adviser (IFA) base. o Own sales targets, budgets, and performance delivery across regions.

Stakeholder and relationship management

Serve as a trusted adviser and brand ambassador, positioning and representing Momentum as the thought leader of choice in the industry.

• Cultivate new relationships that endure with wealth advisers, internal stakeholders, and national partners, ensuring Momentum’s presence is felt across the country.

• Drive stakeholder engagement, satisfaction, and effective service level agreement (SLA) management.

• Manage business-to-business relationships and partnerships with large wealth management financial services providers (FSPs).

Sales enablement and adviser support

Transform the ask of operations and equip the investment distribution force with compelling tools, insights, and value propositions that elevate Momentum’s solutions above the competition.

• Enhance adviser experience through marketing, communication, and operational support.

• Oversee key processes impacting IFAs, including onboarding upskilling, remuneration, and service delivery.

Leadership and capability building

Inspire a culture of excellence aligned with Momentum’s strategic vision, where performance is both expected and celebrated.

• Challenge the status quo by leading and empowering Investment Regional Managers (IRMs) and teams to deliver consistent results.

• Assume direct line responsibilities for a specialist investment team of five investment specialist leaders and dotted line to investment specialists in outlying areas. o Enable

• 150 Retail Business Consultants (BCs) to do investment business.

• Drive coaching, mentoring, segmentation, and capability development across teams.
