Job Advert Summary

Rustenburg Girls’ High School is looking for an experienced Physical & Natural Sciences teacher to run the Physical Sciences department. This SGB educator post is available from 01 January 2027. The successful applicant will be expected to play a full role in the extra-mural life of the school, including as a Tutor in the Vertical Tutor System.

Only short-listed candidates will be contacted and invited to an interview and will be taken on a tour of the school and expected to teach a lesson. We reserve the right not to fill the post.

Minimum Requirements

• Knowledge and more than 8 years’ experience in teaching the CAPs curriculum in the GET & FET phases is essential.
• More than 5 years’ experience teaching Physical Science at the Grade 12 level is essential.
• Experience running a Physical Sciences department would be a significant advantage.
• Experience as an NSC marker would be an advantage.
• Must be computer literate and experienced in the use of technology for teaching and learning

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teaching of Natural & Physical Sciences from Grade 8-12 as assigned.
• Managing the work, planning and budget of a department of three teachers.
• Ensuring that assessments are set, marked and moderated in accordance with policy
• Extra-mural and additional administrative duties as required
• Act as a Tutor within the school's Vertical Tutor System.
