Head of Studio, Cape Town (all genders)

Your role

The Head of Studio is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and operational efficiency of the studio. This senior position requires extensive experience within the advertising and design industry, a strong understanding of creative workflows, and proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams. The role is focused on strategic oversight, resource allocation, and fostering a high-performance culture, rather than hands-on design execution.

• Leadership and team management: Provide direction, mentorship, and performance management for studio staff.
• Operational oversight: Ensure efficient allocation of projects, adherence to deadlines, and delivery of work to the highest standard.
• Strategic alignment: Collaborate with executive leadership to align studio output with organizational objectives.
• Resource planning: Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and workload distribution across multiple projects.
• Client and stakeholder engagement: Partner with account and creative teams to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
• Culture and environment: Build and maintain a collaborative, motivated, and professional studio culture.

Your profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior leadership role within an advertising agency or design studio.
• Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary creative teams.
• Prior experience in a hands-on creative role (design, production, or similar) is highly advantageous.
• Strong organizational and operational management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
