Health and Safety Officer Junior

Job Description

We are looking for a Health & Safety Officer to assist half day 08h00 to 13h00, at our Head Office which is based in Zwavelpoort Pretoria.

You should have a solid background in the Health & Safety field and should have good management skills, you should know the relevant regulations and would need to complete all required H&S documentation and audits, Construction regulations. We also expect you to be well-organized and to have a high regard for safety on site.

Health & Safety Officer responsibilities:

• Managing all Health & Safety requirements of the Employer on site in line with the client requirements.
• Handling the Health & Safety administration and drafting if needed, or completing of documentation for the various projects that run from the Head Office.
• Doing all site appointments, medical arrangements, inductions and on-boarding of individuals to site.
• Handling all H&S audits as required.
• Monitoring of employees and equipment,
• Ensuring the H&S file is up to date and completed correctly.
• Ensuring all training of employees on the Employers projects are up to date or organized accordingly.
• Troubleshoot problems when they arise. Handle all incidents and accidents on site.
• Prepare reports as needed required by legislation and requirements.
• Position based daily at the Company's Head Office in Zwavelpoort.
• Working at Heights applicable for audits and inspections

Health & Safety Officer qualifications and skills requirements:

• SAMTRAC Qualified
• SACPCMP Registered
• Construction regulations proficient
• 3+ years' experience of working as a Health & Safety officer
• Full Microsoft software proficient.
• Good experience in OHS regulations and procedures
• Strong communication, organizational and leadership skills
• Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to report effectively
• Good physical condition and stamina as climbing on roofs will be a requirement
