Health and Safety Officer

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Ø Assist with the preparation of a construction health and safety plan.

Ø Assist the SHEQ officer in improving the SHEQ system, processes, and standards to drive all SHEQ performance and compliance aspects.

Ø Confirm that the necessary documentation was submitted to the relevant authorities.

Ø Attend project planning meetings, sites, or any relevant location.

Ø Assessments and approval of contractor(s) health and safety plans.

Ø Attend the contractor’s site handover.

Ø Attend regular site, technical, and progress meetings.

Ø Facilitate site health and safety meetings.

Ø Identification of the hazards and risks relevant to the construction project through regular coordinated site inspections.

Ø Compiling project-specific emergency response and preparedness plans.

Ø Testing the effectiveness of the emergency response plans.

Ø Conduct site safety inductions.

Ø Manage the reporting and investigation of project-related incidents.

Ø Manage the maintenance of all records.

Ø Inspect vehicle checklists.

Ø Compile risk assessments and method statements.

Ø Compile environmental aspects and impact risk assessments

Ø Compile lessons learned.

Ø Conduct contractor inductions whenever required.

Ø Compile safety files for clients whenever required.

Ø Manage improvements and closeout.

Ø Daily site inspections.

Ø Take SHE files for approval.

Ø Conduct planned task observations

Ø Work closely with the SHEQ officer.

Ø Performs any other duties as directed by your supervisor or manager.

Ø Perform any tasks that may be required by the manager or supervisor from time to time.

Pay: R20 000,00 - R23 500,00 per month
