BTT is currently recruiting for two Hose Inspectors to join our Richards Bay Operations Team

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To ensure that all Bidvest Tank Terminals (BTT) Richards Bay flexible hoses used for rail, road, and vessel loading and offloading operations are safe, compliant, and fit for service through routine inspections, pressure testing, preventive maintenance, and accurate record keeping. The role ensures that all hoses meet statutory, regulatory, and company requirements to support safe, reliable, and efficient product transfer operations

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 with Math’s, Science and with proficiency in English

Minimum 2–3 years' experience in terminal operations and hose management

Experience working within petrochemical, chemical, oil and gas, or bulk liquid terminals is advantageous

Valid code10/C1 driver’s license

Truck-Mounted Crane Licence advantageous

Basic Rigging Training Certificate advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Compile and maintain hose specifications based on their intended application

Inspect and approve new hoses, maintain accurate hose records, and ensure all hoses are correctly identified, tagged, and traceable

Create internal pressure testing certificate for all hoses

Conduct routine visual inspections and pressure testing of all operational hoses

Maintain and Update hose asset register, and ensure hoses are labelled

Ensure hoses are cleaned, stored, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with company procedures

Support rail, road, and vessel loading and offloading operations by ensuring only approved, certified, and serviceable hoses are available for use

Replace faulty or damage hoses as required

Co-ordinate and plan with site, to make the hoses available for inspection

Investigate and report on failed hoses in use within 48 hours of the incident and equipment to Managers and inform relevant parties to replace the hoses

Ability to work and communicate well with others

Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English
