Hostess

Ba-phalaborwa Golf Club looking for a friendly, professional and guest-focused Hostess to join our team.

The Hostess will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming first impression for guests, managing guest seating and reservations, and supporting the smooth flow of service within the restaurant. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude and a strong passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests in a warm, professional and friendly manner.
• Manage guest arrivals, seating arrangements and reservations.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus where required.
• Monitor table availability and coordinate seating with the service team.
• Maintain an organised and welcoming reception/hostess area.
• Assist with managing guest enquiries and requests.
• Communicate effectively with waitrons, management and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service.
• Monitor guest flow during busy periods and assist with managing waiting guests.
• Handle guest concerns professionally and escalate matters to management when required.
• Assist with special occasions, functions and events where required.
• Maintain accurate reservation and guest information.
• Ensure the restaurant's service standards and presentation are consistently maintained.
• Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all guests.
• Perform any other reasonable duties required to support the Food & Beverage operation.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12.
• Previous experience in a hostess, front-of-house, reception or customer service role will be advantageous.
• Previous experience within a restaurant, hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good command of English.
• Professional and well-presented appearance.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
