Hostess & Reservations Coordinator | Stellenbosch, Cape Winelands

A prestigious luxury wine estate in Stellenbosch is looking for a warm, polished and highly organised Hostess & Reservations Coordinator to join its hospitality team.

This guest-facing role combines professional hosting with the accurate coordination of restaurant reservations. The successful candidate will be one of the first points of contact for guests and will help create a welcoming, seamless experience from the initial booking through to their arrival and departure.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and seat guests warmly and professionally
• Manage restaurant reservations received by telephone, email and online platforms
• Respond promptly and accurately to booking enquiries
• Confirm reservations and capture guest information correctly
• Coordinate table allocations and support the smooth flow of service
• Maintain accurate reservation records, waiting lists and guest preferences
• Communicate special requests, dietary requirements and celebrations to the relevant teams
• Assist with VIP guests, special occasions and group bookings
• Provide guests with information about the restaurant and other estate experiences
• Work closely with restaurant management and service teams regarding bookings and expected guest numbers
• Monitor arrivals, delays, cancellations and no-shows
• Answer telephone calls and written enquiries in a polished and professional manner
• Handle guest concerns calmly and assist in finding suitable solutions
• Maintain a neat, professional and welcoming reception area
• Support the restaurant team during busy services when required
• Uphold the high service and presentation standards of a luxury hospitality property

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Hostess, Reservations Coordinator, Receptionist or Guest Relations Officer
• Experience in a luxury restaurant, hotel, lodge or wine-estate environment would be advantageous
• A relevant hospitality qualification would be beneficial
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Afrikaans or an additional language would be advantageous
• Strong telephone manner and professional communication skills
• Good computer literacy and experience using reservation systems
• Strong administration and attention to detail
• Able to manage multiple bookings and enquiries in a busy environment
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Reliable transport to and from Stellenbosch
