Join Our Team
THE Pretoria Hotel is looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Porter to join our Front Office team. As one of the first people our guests meet upon arrival, the Porter plays an important role in creating a warm welcome and ensuring guests receive exceptional service throughout their stay.
The successful candidate will assist guests with luggage, provide information about the hotel's facilities, and support the Front Office team in delivering a seamless guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services
- Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and assist with luggage to and from their rooms. Escort guests to their rooms and explain the hotel's facilities, services, and amenities. Assist guests with requests, enquiries, and directions in a courteous and professional manner. Arrange transportation, including taxis and shuttle services, when requested. Assist guests with storing and retrieving luggage in the luggage room. Provide assistance to elderly guests and guests with disabilities where required.
Front Office Support
- Support the Reception team during busy check-in and check-out periods. Deliver messages, parcels, and guest amenities to rooms promptly. Assist with room changes and special guest requests. Ensure the hotel entrance, lobby, and luggage storage areas are clean, tidy, and welcoming at all times. Report maintenance issues, security concerns, and lost property in accordance with hotel procedures.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and proper use of luggage trolleys and porter equipment. Assist with conference and event setup when required. Support other hotel departments during peak operational periods. Follow hotel security procedures and assist in ensuring the safety of guests and hotel property. Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent. Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service environment will be advantageous. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Professional appearance and a positive attitude. Physically fit and able to lift and carry guests' luggage safely. Basic knowledge of hotel operations will be advantageous. Ability to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.

Pay: R5 800,00 - R6 500,00 per week
