Position Overview

We are looking for an energetic, caring and hands-on Household Assistant & Junior House Manager

to become an integral part of our home.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys creating a warm, organised and welcoming

household. The successful candidate will assist with the day-to-day running of the home, provide

support with childcare when required, and work alongside the existing household staff to maintain

exceptionally high standards.

The role requires someone who is proactive, trustworthy and able to use their own initiative. No two

days are the same, and the ideal candidate will be adaptable and willing to assist wherever needed.

Working hours are flexible and will vary depending on whether the homeowner is in residence. During

these periods, longer hours may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Household Support

• Assist with the daily running of the household.

• Ensure the home remains clean, organised and welcoming at all times.

• Work alongside other household staff to maintain high housekeeping standards.

• Step in to assist with cleaning duties whenever required.

• Organise cupboards, storage areas and household spaces.

• Ensure household supplies are monitored and replenished.

Childcare Support

• Assist with child minding when required.

• Engage positively with the children in a caring, patient and responsible manner.

• Assist with meal preparation, playtime and daily routines.

• Help supervise children while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.

• Be available to support the household during busy periods or when additional childcare

assistance is needed.

Laundry & Housekeeping

• Wash, iron and fold laundry to a high standard.

• Care for delicate garments and household linen.

• Change bedding and maintain guest rooms.

• Keep wardrobes, linen cupboards and storage areas organised.

• Assist with general housekeeping duties as required.Cooking & Hospitality

• Prepare simple, home-style meals when required.

• Assist with entertaining and preparing the home for guests.

• Ensure the home feels welcoming and comfortable for the homeowner and visitors.

Household Coordination

• Assist in coordinating contractors and service providers.

• Report maintenance issues promptly.

• Help monitor household invoices, receipts and basic household expenses.

• Maintain organised household records where required.

General Responsibilities

This role is not limited to a fixed list of duties.

The successful candidate will be expected to assist wherever needed to ensure the smooth running of

the household. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, notices what needs to be done and

is willing to roll up their sleeves without being asked.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience in a private household, nanny, au pair or housekeeping role.

• Experience caring for children.

• Strong housekeeping and laundry skills.

• Confidence working independently.

• Excellent organisational skills.

• Good communication skills.

• A warm, friendly and professional manner.

• Basic computer skills would be advantageous.

• A valid driver's licence would be beneficial.

Working Hours
