Urban Elephant Hotels & Tours is looking for an energetic, physically fit and dependable Housekeeping General Worker / Driver to join our fast-paced hospitality team.

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for cleaning and preparing guest apartments. The position also involves transporting linen, supplies and equipment between our properties across Cape Town.

Key responsibilities

- Clean and prepare guest apartments according to company standards.

- Make beds, clean bathrooms and kitchens, dust, vacuum and mop floors.

- Replenish linen, towels, toiletries and other guest supplies.

- Conduct detailed checks to ensure apartments are spotless and guest-ready.

- Report maintenance problems, damages and missing items promptly.

- Deliver clean linen and supplies to our different properties.

- Collect dirty linen and return it to our main operational building at 16 on Bree.

- Travel to other properties to assist with housekeeping when required.

- Load, carry and move linen, supplies, equipment and other reasonably heavy items.

- Run operational errands when instructed.

- Keep the company vehicle clean and immediately report any faults or damage.

- Follow road-safety, health-and-safety and company procedures.

- Assist the housekeeping and operations teams with other reasonable duties.

Minimum requirements

- Previous housekeeping, hotel cleaning or professional cleaning experience.

- A valid South African driver’s licence.

- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP/PDP) will be advantageous.

- Legally authorised to live and work in South Africa. Applicants who are not South African citizens must provide valid work-authorisation documents.

- Physically capable of performing demanding cleaning duties and lifting or carrying linen and supplies.

- Strong attention to detail and high cleanliness standards.

- Able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Reliable, punctual, honest and well presented.

- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

- Familiarity with Cape Town and surrounding areas will be advantageous.

- Willing and able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

The ideal candidate takes pride in creating clean and welcoming guest spaces, works with urgency without compromising quality, and is comfortable dividing their time between housekeeping, driving and general operational support.

Pay: R5 000,00 - R7 500,00 per month
