Lead a dedicated housekeeping and laundry team in delivering exceptional cleanliness, comfort, and presentation throughout Thitaka River Lodge. This role oversees daily housekeeping operations, laundry services, quality inspections, stock control, and team performance while ensuring Newmark's luxury hospitality standards are consistently achieved. Working closely with the Executive Housekeeper, you will foster operational excellence, support staff development, and create outstanding guest experiences through attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to service excellence.

Minimum Requirements

Certificate or Diploma in Housekeeping, Hospitality or related field preferred · Minimum 2-4 years housekeeping experience within hospitality or lodge operations · Previous supervisory experience advantageous · Strong knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning standards, and laundry operations · Good leadership and organizational skills · Ability to work effectively in a remote lodge environment · Basic computer literacy advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Housekeeping Supervision ·

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities and cleaning schedules.
• • Ensure all guest rooms, suites, public areas, offices, and staff accommodation are cleaned and prepared according to lodge standards
• • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and public areas to ensure quality and presentation standards are maintained.
• • Ensure room readiness aligns with guest arrivals, departures, and occupancy requirements.
• • Monitor housekeeping staff performance and productivity throughout shifts. Laundry Operations Support
• • Assist in supervising daily laundry operations including guest laundry, linen, uniforms, and housekeeping laundry requirements.
• • Ensure proper handling, sorting, washing, pressing, and storage of linen and uniforms.
• • Monitor linen quality and report shortages, damages, or replacement needs.
• Ensure laundry equipment and facilities remain clean and operational.
• Guest Service & Support
• • Respond promptly and professionally to guest housekeeping requests and concerns.
• • Assist with special room setups, VIP arrangements, honeymoon amenities, and guest preferences.
• • Support service recovery efforts and ensure guest satisfaction at all times.

Staff Supervision & Training

• Supervise housekeeping attendants, room attendants, public area cleaners, and laundry personnel.

• Train staff on cleaning procedures, service standards, hygiene, and safety practices.

• Ensure staff maintain proper grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.

• Assist with staff scheduling, shift coordination, and daily task allocation.

• Promote teamwork, discipline, and a positive working environment.

Inventory & Operational Control

• Monitor housekeeping supplies, guest amenities, linen, and cleaning materials.

• Assist with stock control, inventory counts, and supply requisitions.

• Report maintenance issues, damages, and operational concerns promptly.

• Ensure proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

Health, Safety & Hygiene

• Ensure housekeeping operations comply with health, hygiene, and safety standards.

• Promote safe working practices within the department.

• Ensure proper sanitation procedures are consistently followed.

• Support lodge environmental sustainability and responsible tourism initiatives.

Interdepartmental Coordination

• Liaise with front office and operations teams regarding room status and guest requirements.

· Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of repairs and maintenance issues. · Communicate operational updates effectively to the Executive Housekeeper.
