We're Hiring: HR Administrator Intern (12-Month Internship)
Location: Brackenfell, Cape Town
Duration: 12-Month Internship

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic HR Administrator Intern to join our dynamic team for a 12-month internship. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain valuable hands-on experience in Human Resources and Learning & Development.
What You'll Do
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrates an understanding of HR processes from recruitment through to employee exit.
- Develops competence in HR documentation, employee records and administrative processes.
- Gains practical experience coordinating interviews, assessments and candidate communication.
- Understands how learning programmes and employee development initiatives are coordinated.
- Builds organisational skills, communication, professionalism and stakeholder engagement capability.
Programme Rotation
- Employee records, documentation, onboarding and HR systems.
- Interview coordination, assessments and recruitment administration.
- Training coordination, employee engagement and learning administration.
Learning Activities
HR Administration
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding administration.
- Prepare employment documentation and employee correspondence.
- Maintain employee files and HR records.
- Capture and update HR information systems.
- Assist with leave, probation and employee administration.
Recruitment support
- Assist with drafting and posting job advertisements on relevant recruitment platforms.
- Screen applications and shortlist candidates where applicable, in accordance with the role requirements and guidance from the HR team.
- Schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
- Coordinate psychometric assessments and assessment bookings.
- Prepare interview packs and recruitment documentation.
- Communicate professionally with candidates throughout the recruitment process.
- Maintain recruitment trackers and ensure candidate records are accurate and up to date.
- Assist with pre-employment administration, including reference checks, qualification verification and onboarding documentation where applicable.
Enablement & Employee experience
- Coordinate training sessions and workshops.
- Schedule venues, meeting rooms and Microsoft Teams sessions.
- Prepare attendance registers and training material.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives and wellness activities.
- Support surveys, feedback initiatives and internal HR communications.
- Assist with preparing presentation material and HR reports.

- Successfully completes all planned HR learning rotations.
- Demonstrates the ability to perform HR administrative and coordination activities under supervision.
- Receives positive performance feedback throughout the internship programme.
- Applies academic HR knowledge effectively within the workplace.
- Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality, accountability and teamwork.
- Successfully completes the internship review and demonstrates understanding of core HR practices.

- Build capability in recruitment coordination and candidate management.

- Develop competence in Microsoft Office, HRIS and recruitment systems.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Industrial Psychology or a related field. An Honours degree will be advantageous/preferred.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams). Experience with Microsoft Forms, Microsoft Teams and HR information systems will be advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organisational ability, high attention to detail, ability to maintain confidentiality, customer-service orientation, and a willingness to learn and take initiative.
