Employment Type: Part-Time
Rate: AUD $15.00 per hour
Hours: Minimum 15 hours per week during the initial two-month trial period
Location: Remote
Time Zone Preference: Reasonably aligned with Perth / Australian business hours

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized HR Assistant to support our existing HR Manager.

This is a hands-on HR support and administration role, ideal for someone who already has genuine experience working within the Australian HR environment. The successful candidate will assist with a variety of HR functions across multiple client accounts and will work closely with both internal team members and clients.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting recruitment and general HR administration
  • Assisting with employee onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Preparing and maintaining employment contracts, letters, and other HR documentation
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential employee records
  • Assisting with the development and updating of HR policies and procedures
  • Conducting research on Fair Work requirements, Modern Awards, employee classifications, and other employment-related matters
  • Supporting HR compliance activities and documentation
  • Assisting with payroll and HR-related checks
  • Providing administrative support for performance management processes
  • Assisting with workplace investigations and related documentation
  • Maintaining employee training and development records
  • Preparing HR reports and maintaining HR data
  • Providing general administrative support to the HR Manager and wider team
  • Communicating professionally with internal stakeholders and clients
  • Supporting multiple client accounts and managing competing priorities

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have genuine, hands-on experience working in Australian HR and can confidently operate within the Australian employment environment.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, HR Coordinator, or similar HR support role
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting Australian-based employees, businesses, or clients
  • Good working knowledge of Australian employment practices, including:
  • Fair Work requirements
  • Modern Awards
  • Employee classifications
  • Employment contracts
  • HR policies and procedures
  • HR compliance
  • General Australian employment practices
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and employee documentation
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence communicating professionally with both internal teams and clients
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and client accounts
  • High attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the HR Manager and wider team

Preferred

  • Working hours that are reasonably aligned with Perth / Australian business hours
  • Previous experience supporting an Australian HR consultancy, professional services business, or multiple client accounts
  • Experience assisting with HR compliance, Award research, payroll checks, performance management, and investigations

Working Hours and Opportunity for Growth

The successful candidate will initially be engaged for a minimum of 15 hours per week during the first two-month trial period.

There is scope for additional hours to become available depending on:

  • Client workload and requirements
  • Business needs
  • Candidate availability
  • Performance and capability
