Job description
This is a shared services role covering the compliance, systems, and people processes that keep HR running across multiple African countries. You'll also manage a small team, including the receptionist. We need someone who manages their own follow-through without being chased, leads a team without micromanaging, and finds that level of detail energising, not draining.
WHAT THE JOB ACTUALLY LOOKS LIKE
- Shared services operations - managing onboarding, status changes, and offboarding processes accurately across HQ and stores, and resolving issues before they escalate.
- SAGE and position management - creating and maintaining position numbers across all operating countries, linked correctly to payroll, HR, and Kronos data.
- Health & safety compliance across all countries of operation - updating policies, coordinating training, managing H&S committees, and tracking completion.
- Employment equity - drafting and submitting equity plans and reports, facilitating quarterly forum meetings, maintaining compliant records and submitting employment equity reports on time.
- Managing a team of 3 - directing daily priorities, supporting their development, and keeping the shared services and reception functions running smoothly.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
- 3-5 years of HR generalist or HR shared services experience - multi-country exposure is a strong advantage.
- Solid working experience of employment equity and health & safety frameworks.
- Familiar with SAGE X3 and SAGE 300 People or a comparable platform.
- Experience managing or supervising a small team advantageous.
- Highly organised, discreet with sensitive information, and comfortable owning a wide scope independently.
WHAT YOU GET
- Multi-country HR exposure across a fast-growing African business.
- A people management responsibility alongside the operational scope is a genuine step up for the right candidate.
