HR Manager (m/f)

As proactive member of the RSA Leadership team, the role plays an important part in driving our McCormick culture and executing the people agenda for our regional South African site.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accountability for driving the HR agenda for South Africa, but as part of a wider global HR team, which works to support business growth, builds capabilities and drives engagement, in partnership with country leaders.
• Prior experience of working successfully with site unions on employee relations activity.
• Responsible for organisational design and workforce planning to ensure the achievement of business goals through robust recruitment, performance, talent management and effective employee development.
• Accountable for employee engagement activity, managing talent and succession processes, recruitment strategy and transformation activity.
• Prior experience of being accountable for site payroll activity, SOX controls and the new hire process
• Work in partnership with managers to ensure effective management and resolution of complex employee relations issues.
• Working in partnership with HR Centres Of Expertise (Compensation & Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Internal Communications) to ensure best practice HR processes, policies and execution (Talent Reviews, Employee Engagement Survey’s, Annual Salary Review activity, Learning and Development activities, etc).
• Work closely with our McCormick People Services Centre, who support to provide HR administrative and transactional services to our EMEA locations including South Africa
• Provision of HR expertise to leaders and cross-functional teams in South Africa to ensure the implementation of excellence in every aspect of the HR agenda.
• Operationalize strategic HR initiatives/programs and execute effectively at a country or site level, and multi-site and multi-country as required.
• Participate in Regional and Global HR Projects which support Operational Excellence Programs.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Relevant HR related qualification;
• Proven experience of delivering in a HR business partner or HR Management capacity within a commercial and operations site environment is essential;
• Prior experience of driving change & transformation initiatives successfully in collaboration with local RSA leadership team to a successful conclusion;
• Experience of coaching & influencing commercial leaders to deliver effective people solutions;
• Strong knowledge of current RSA employment legislation;
• Proven experience of working successfully with unions and managing complex employee relations cases.
• Ability to influence cross-functionally and at all levels of the organisation;
• Ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation & globally.
• Proven experience in delivery and execution of effective HR project and transformation activity;
• Ability to work remotely with a good balance of autonomy and reporting;
• Good knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and SAP
