HR Manager, South Africa

What you'll do

As the HR Manager for South Africa, you will partner with local business leaders to support business growth through effective people management and HR operations. You will manage day-to-day HR activities, support recruitment and talent management, ensure compliance with local employment requirements, and help build a strong and practical HR foundation for a growing organization.

In this role, you will:

• Understand business needs and provide day-to-day HR support, helping business leaders address people and organization-related matters.
• Coordinate and execute key HR activities, including recruitment, performance management, learning & development, compensation & benefits, and employee relations.
• Manage employee relations, visa/work permit and other local HR matters, ensuring compliance with South African employment requirements and mitigating employment risks.
• Support the implementation of HR projects and local policies, and continuously improve HR processes as the business grows.
• Build and maintain effective HR operations and data management, including employee records, recruitment tracking, headcount and HR reporting.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
• 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 2 years in an HRBP or HR Generalist capacity; international or cross-cultural experience is preferred.
• Experience across multiple HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and performance management; able to handle day-to-day HR matters independently.
• Strong ownership, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to a fast-changing business environment and take a hands-on approach to HR work.
• Fluent in English; Mandarin Chinese is preferred. Familiarity with South African employment law and local HR practices is preferred.
