Job Summary
We are a leading manufacturing group seeking a dynamic, energetic, and results-driven HR / IR Officer to join our Human Resources team. This role is ideal for an HR professional who is passionate about people, labour relations, and operational excellence within a manufacturing environment.The successful candidate will support the full HR function across our South African operations and must be willing to travel between our manufacturing plants as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Labour Relations, or a related field.
- 2–3 years' experience in a Human Resources role within a manufacturing environment.
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation, including:
- Labour Relations Act (LRA)
- Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
- Employment Equity Act (EEA)
- Skills Development Act (SDA)
- Exposure to payroll processing and HRIS/payroll systems.
- Own a car and have a valid driver's license.
- Willingness to travel extensively between company sites.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:Human Resources
- Coordinate recruitment, on boarding, and employee inductions.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
- Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and labour legislation.
- Prepare HR reports and maintain HR metrics.
Industrial Relations:
- Assist in managing disciplinary and grievance processes.
- Draft notices, warnings, and disciplinary documentation.
- Coordinate and participate in disciplinary hearings.
- Handle employee relations matters professionally and confidentially.
- Support CCMA/Bargaining Council preparations where required.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with employees, shop stewards, and management.
Payroll Administration:
- Assist with payroll preparation and processing.
- Verify attendance, overtime, leave, and payroll inputs.
- Resolve payroll-related queries.
- Ensure payroll documentation is complete and submitted within deadlines.
Training & Development:
- Coordinate internal and external training programmes.
- Maintain training records and skills matrices.
- Assist with Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR).
- Liaise with training providers and relevant SETAs.
HR Compliance:
- Assist with Employment Equity reporting and compliance.
- Support HR audits and statutory reporting.
- Ensure all HR practices align with company policies and South African labour legislation.

- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
