Job description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
JOB PURPOSE:
Ensure client and supplier interaction is maintained so that Hub KPI's are achieved effectively and efficiently through the coordination of all operational, administrative and planning functions.
QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12 Certificate (Matric)
- Diploma in Road and Transport Management, Warehousing or related field of study
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office
- Minimum 3 years working experience in a leadership / middle management position within a warehousing environment
- Previous experience in managing a team of leaders
- Experience in managing a Health and Safety programme according to the specifications stipulated by law (advantageous)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cost management
- Manage scorecards of service providers, customers and suppliers to meet resource, cost and quality requirements as well as service level agreements ensuring they meet the monthly minimum standard
- Effective recording of Pepkor Logistics business measurements and track performance in order to drive sustainable and integrated business performance
- Manage delivery frequencies, lead times and bay performance vs. scheduling and Report any deviations.
- Manage, effectively control and reconcile the Hub budget Coordinate operational activities within the warehouse to maximise productivity of labour, maximise the application of FIFO and optimise vehicle utilisation
- Manage special instructions in terms of loading process of vehicles and promo parcels to ensure maximised vehicle utilisation and client satisfaction.
- Ensure that Local, Linehaul, Shuttles and Full carton suppliers vehicles are loaded/off loaded according to planned sequence to ensure maximised vehicle utilisation and maximum efficiency for quick turnaround times to ensure client satisfaction
- Overall management of local transport planning function
Inventory Management
- Coordinating labour resources and procurement and delivery of parcels to client stores
- Manage FIFO and ensure it is applied across the entire warehouse floor (in all carousels).
- Manage client relations within multi principle environment and interface with store management.
- Determining schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
- Inventory control - ensure that the number of 5 and 14 day old parcels are kept under the target by means of investigations and reporting on a daily basis
- Liaise with various suppliers and client departments for full cartons deliveries and daily production forecasts
- Coordinate urgent courier deliveries for client
- Keep the number of missorts and misscans under the target KPI
Risk
- Manage claims and ensure that all claims are properly investigated, and kept under the target as per KPI's
- Manage housekeeping and ensure safe working environment.
- Adhere to Health and Safety requirements in accordance with the OHS act and Compliance to other.
- Inspect all vehicles to ensure no safety risk for parcels
General
- People Development - Develop, lead & coach your operational team through sound performance planning. Apply and evaluate the appropriate Sop's. Ensure that all relevant disciplines and processes are adhered to and understood. Encourage and support further development and continuous improvement Initiatives in your area of responsibility.
- Manage housekeeping inside respective carousels and ensure
- Manage the on-site relationship with DC to maximize client satisfaction
