Department University of Venda -> Vice Chancellor and Principal -> Corporate Services -> Human Resources Job Title HUMAN RESOURCE BUSINESS PARTNER Post Level Grade 8 Job Type Support - Univen Funded Closing Date 31/7/2026 Job Requirements A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management / Industrial Psychology coupled with four years of relevant experience. Candidate should have technical working knowledge and skills in recruitment, selection, and placement, employee relations, talent management remuneration and benefits, and organizational development. Candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as advocacy, facilitation, and mediation skills. Candidate should have applied knowledge of the Immigration Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, Skills Development Act, Labour Relations Act, and other applicable legislation. Candidate should be Computer literate. Candidate should display knowledge and experience in an HR system which includes data capturing, extraction, and analysis of transactional data.

Duties

• Lead and manage the implementation and delivery of key HR initiatives in the University, across the full spectrum of the employee life cycle which will include Talent Management and Succession Planning Management, Training and Development, Organisation Development and Design, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Recruitment, and Selection, Remuneration and Benefits and related HR administration.
• Create and drive the HR processes and objectives for the University and ensure alignment with the University of Venda's strategic objectives.
• Strategic partnering with the business in defining and implementing strategic HR interventions that enable or enhance the achievement of the strategic objectives.
• Enhance the implementation of a high-performance culture focusing on coaching, continuous improvement, and building HR capabilities.
• Initiate, build, and maintain strong positive partnerships with key stakeholders at all levels of the institution.
• Identify workforce issues and provide appropriate interventions.
• Make a positive contribution to performance improvement of portfolio areas.
• Work collaboratively and in partnership with the centers of expertise to enhance the delivery of the HR agenda.
• Foster change management interventions as well as assist management in the implementation of change.
• Administer an effective and error-free payroll.
• Implement HR business processes and report on levels of compliance.
• Identify and address HR-related risks (including potential risks) and develop strategies and implementation plans to minimize and or eliminate risk.
• Enhance governance and compliance with HR policies.
• Foster, forge, and encourage close working relationships with all stakeholders to deliver on their respective service level agreements.
