Job description
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a diverse HR portfolio within a complex, multinational and technically driven business. As part of the leadership team, you will partner closely with senior management to deliver HR strategies that support business objectives, strengthen organisational capability and ensure compliance. This broad, hands-on role spans the full employee lifecycle, combining strategic HR leadership with operational delivery.

Partner with senior leaders on strategic and operational HR matters.

Lead talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, engagement and retention initiatives.

Manage complex employee and labour relations , including grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes.

Oversee international mobility , expatriation, immigration and employee transfers.

Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation , collective agreements, employment equity requirements and company policies.

Support organisational change, workforce planning, restructuring and succession planning.

Use HR analytics and workforce data to identify trends and support business and headcount decisions.

Oversee HR operations, employee records, compensation and benefits, payroll support and HR systems.

Lead and develop HR resources while supporting employees and managers across the business.

Tertiary qualification in Human Resources .

10+ years' HR generalist experience , including at least 6 years at senior level .

Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation .

Experience in manufacturing, metals, oil & gas, engineering or a similar industrial environment .

Experience working in a unionised environment , including bargaining councils and collective agreements.

Strong track record in employee relations, disciplinary processes, change management and restructuring .

Experience with HR information systems such as Oracle or SAP .

Strong analytical and reporting skills, including advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 capability.

Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.

A confident, autonomous and people-focused leadership style.
