Job description

RECRUITMENT & SELECTION

Develop and implement a talent acquisition strategy aligned with business needs and headcount planning.

Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job profiling, advertising, sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding.

Provide regular recruitment analytics reports to management, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.

TRAINING & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT

Conduct training needs analysis via skills audits and performance reviews aligned to organisational strategy.

Implement the annual Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) in collaboration with Services SETA requirements. Ensure submission of WSP and ATR on time to Services SETA.

Manage and promote Learnerships, Internships / Graduate programmes in support of skills development

Maintain training records and analyse training spend against budget.

PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

Oversee the performance review process to ensure that all employees have up-to-date performance review documents with clearly defined Key Performance Areas (KPA's) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) (100% completion of annual and mid-year performance reviews within agreed timelines).

Use management feedback to identify and address underperformance through prompt intervention and targeted performance improvement plans.

Identify training and development needs arising from performance reviews and use this information to compile training reports.

Present departmental performance review results, including year-on-year comparisons where applicable, to track progress and identify trends.

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the performance management system.

REMUNERATION & EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

Coordinate with the payroll service provider to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions and payroll processing via SAGE300

Administer employee incentive schemes and oversee the annual salary review process.

Manage the administration of the provident fund. This includes conducting annual reviews of the insured benefits to ensure adequacy and competitiveness and making recommendations where applicable.

Oversee remuneration and salary structures, ensuring alignment with industry benchmarks and best practices.

Provide clear communication to employees regarding remuneration, benefits, and reward schemes. Reward and benefits communications must be executed regularly and effectively.

HR REPORTING & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT

Generate accurate, timely, and insightful HR reports covering turnover, employment equity, training, remuneration, performance management, and other key workforce metrics. Analyze HR data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to senior management.

Plan and conduct regular audits of HR processes, records, and systems to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Assist auditors with relevant information during audit reviews. Review and implement audit recommendations.

EMPLOYMENT EQUITY Ensure compliance with employment equity legislation and support the implementation of the organisation’s Employment Equity Plan.

Conduct quarterly analysis of the workforce using the EEA12 to identify any barriers to employment equity.

Preparation and submission of statutory reports (e.g. EEA2 and EEA4) to the Department of Employment and Labour (annually)

EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

Manage disciplinary and grievance procedures ensuring procedural and substantive fairness in line with LRA and company policies.

Provide guidance and coaching to managers on handling employee relations matters in order to mitigate risk

Maintain thorough documentation of all ER cases and outcomes.

Represent the company in CCMA hearings and other external dispute forums as necessary.

HR POLICIES & POCEDURES

Ensure all HR Policies are reviewed annually and updated in accordance with South African labour legislation and best practices.

Ensure effective communication and training on HR policies to managers and employees.
