Role Summary

Franschhoek Wine Tram is seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Officer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This role is responsible for overseeing and executing all aspects of human resources management across the business. The HR Officer plays a key role in building a positive workplace culture, supporting operational leadership, and ensuring full compliance with South African labour legislation and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR administration and employee-related processes
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding, and induction of new employees
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HR documentation
• Support performance management and employee development processes
• Assist with employee relations, disciplinary procedures, grievances, and conflict resolution
• Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and internal HR systems
• Monitor employee leave, attendance, contracts, and other HR compliance requirements
• Assist with workforce planning, staffing requirements, and organisational changes
• Administer employee benefits, pension/provident funds, and related HR matters
• Prepare HR reports, letters, contracts, notices, and other employee documentation
• Ensure HR practices comply with relevant labour legislation and company policies
• Provide professional HR support and guidance to employees and management

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
• Proven experience in an HR
• Strong working knowledge of South African labour legislation
• Demonstrated experience managing disciplinary and employee relations processes
• Experience designing and implementing HR policies and procedures
• Strong administrative, organisational, and reporting skills
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities
• High level of emotional intelligence and a people-centred approach
• Experience in recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management
• Proficiency in HR information systems and MS Office
• Hospitality, tourism, or transport industry experience will be advantageous

• Own reliable vehicle
• Valid driver’s licence
• Ability to manage HR matters with urgency, discretion, and professionalism
