Details of the Division and Team:

We are seeking a senior client coverage and origination professional to drive Deutsche Bank's growth across the South African Public Sector, State-Owned Enterprise and Large Local Corporate sectors.

The successful candidate will have an established network of senior decision-makers and a proven ability to originate, develop and monetize client opportunities. Candidates may come from corporate banking, investment banking, financing, or global markets backgrounds, but must demonstrate a strong track record of building trusted client relationships and converting those relationships into sustainable revenue opportunities.

The role will focus on both deepening existing Deutsche Bank relationships and identifying new-to-bank opportunities by leveraging the full breadth of the Deutsche Bank franchise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a client coverage strategy focused on Public Sector entities, State-Owned Enterprises and Large Local Corporates in South Africa.
  • Originate new business opportunities by leveraging existing client relationships and establishing new strategic relationships across target sectors.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key decision makers including CFOs, Treasurers, CEOs and other executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and coordinate cross-selling opportunities across the Deutsche Bank platform, including Global Markets, Corporate Bank, Financing and Investment Banking products.
  • Drive sustainable revenue growth through proactive client engagement, strategic account planning and effective opportunity management.
  • Partner with product specialists, structuring teams, trading desks and credit stakeholders to deliver holistic solutions to clients.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by understanding their strategic objectives, funding requirements, risk management needs and broader treasury priorities.
  • Maintain a high-quality coverage pipeline and contribute to franchise expansion through both existing and new-to-bank relationships.
  • Represent Deutsche Bank within the market and help strengthen the firm's profile across targeted client segments.

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in client coverage, relationship management, corporate banking, investment banking, financing, or global markets sales.
  • Demonstrated track record of originating and monetizing client opportunities.
  • Established network of senior relationships within South African Public Sector institutions, State-Owned Enterprises and/or Large Local Corporates.
  • Proven ability to generate new-to-bank business opportunities and successfully develop strategic client relationships.
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify opportunities across multiple product areas.
  • Ability to navigate complex client organizations and engage credibly with senior executives and treasury decision makers.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, financing solutions and corporate treasury requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple product and coverage teams in a matrix environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong focus on franchise growth and revenue generation.
