ICT DESKTOP SUPPORT AND SOUND TECHNICIAN

FULL TIME, PERMANENT POSITION

Thomas More College seeks to employ a proactive, technically skilled, and service-oriented ICT Desktop Support and Sound Technician to join our ICT Department. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and development of the College’s ICT infrastructure, end-user systems, and sound requirements for school events and functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide first- and second-line ICT support for hardware, software, network, printing, and connectivity issues, ensuring timely resolution of support requests.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, peripherals, operating systems, and software applications.
  • Support and maintain the College’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and structured cabling.
  • Assist with the administration and maintenance of Microsoft 365, Active Directory, user accounts, email systems, and identity management.
  • Monitor, maintain, and support server environments, data storage, backup systems, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures, including system updates, endpoint protection, access controls, and security monitoring.
  • Manage ICT assets, equipment deployment, inventory records, and the secure decommissioning of obsolete devices.
  • Install, maintain, and support VoIP telephony systems, network printers, and other operational ICT technologies.
  • Provide technical support for school events, including the setup, testing, and operation of sound, audiovisual, and ICT equipment.
  • Collaborate with staff, service providers, and the ICT team to ensure reliable, secure, and effective ICT services across the College.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Adherence to the Christian Ethos of the School.
  • Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Networking, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in an ICT support environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Windows operating systems, and desktop environments.
  • Sound knowledge of networking principles, wireless networking, structured cabling, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VoIP systems, printers, and audiovisual equipment will be advantageous.
  • Experience with cybersecurity best practices, endpoint protection, and system updates.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Criminal and Sexual Offender’s Clearance Certificate.
  • Adhere to the school code of conduct.
