Job description
CCG Systems is in the ICT sector and is well known to specialize in the implementation and support of ERP systems as well as Payroll & HR Systems to which our clients are made of mostly Municipalities throughout South Africa. Our company is looking for a potential candidate to join our IT team in the capacity of a ICT Technician, to be based at our Head Office.
The ICT Technician will be responsible for delivering IT and systems services to clients and personnel by ensuring the effective processing and monitoring of computer and network systems, and handling the general maintenance thereof
Formal Qualification required
Certificate or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related ICT field
Additional computer/server courses would be advantageous.
Legal Requirements
- Valid code B driver’s license and own transport
- Passed credit and criminal checks
- S.A Citizen, Resident or Valid S.A Work Permit
Operational
- Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications
- Monitor and maintain computer systems and networks
- talk staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the phone, to help set up systems or resolve issues
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults
- Replace parts as required
- Provide support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
- Follow diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system
- Support the roll-out of new applications
- Set up new users' accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
- Respond within agreed time limits to call-outs
- Work continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate)
- Prioritise and manage many open cases at one time
- Rapidly establish a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers
- Test and evaluate new technology
- Conduct electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
Asset Maintenance:
- Record new assets on the pastel system
- Maintain updated list of all employees’ assets (Notebook, keyboards, etc)
- Hand out cell phones, keyboards, laptops, etc to new employees and/if when needed.
- Reporting any problems when necessary (Example: About IT- Switchboard, Printers, 3G’s, projector, server etc.)
- Maintain stock record-keeping of all IT related equipment.
- Perform general audits on staff assets as per manager’s requests
- Ensure that there are the relevant documents signed by any recipient of any assets such as lap tops, camera’s, tablets, cell phones etc;
- Maintain the asset register in terms of IT equipment, ensuring that it is correct and up to date.
- Ensure that records are kept for all employee assets
