About the Position

We are looking for an experienced and passionate High School IEB Teacher to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' teaching experience with the South African IEB curriculum and a strong understanding of the academic requirements and assessment standards for high school learners.

The position involves delivering engaging, structured and learner-centred lessons through both online and face-to-face teaching. The ideal candidate should be confident working with high school students across different grade levels and able to adapt lessons to individual learning needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the IEB curriculum.
• Teach high school learners in a structured, engaging and supportive environment.
• Conduct both online and face-to-face classes.
• Prepare learners for tests, examinations, assignments and IEB assessments.
• Develop lesson plans, learning materials, worksheets and assessment activities.
• Monitor and evaluate learner progress.
• Provide constructive feedback to learners and parents/guardians where required.
• Identify areas where learners require additional support and implement appropriate interventions.
• Maintain accurate records of learner attendance, progress and assessment results.
• Use technology effectively to facilitate online learning.
• Create an interactive and positive classroom environment.
• Stay up to date with IEB curriculum requirements, teaching methodologies and assessment practices.
• Communicate professionally with learners, parents and the academic management team.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 3 years' teaching experience with the IEB curriculum.
• Experience teaching South African high school learners.
• Strong knowledge of the relevant IEB subject curriculum and assessment requirements.
• A recognised teaching qualification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good classroom management skills.
• Ability to teach effectively both online and face-to-face.
• Strong computer and digital teaching skills.
• Reliable internet connection and suitable equipment for online teaching.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a teaching team.

Advantageous

• Experience preparing learners for IEB examinations.
• Experience teaching Grades 8–12.
• Experience with online teaching platforms such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
• Experience providing individual tutoring or small-group instruction.
• Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online assessment tools.
• Additional subject specialisations.
