Import/Export Coordinator

1UP CARGO is a medium sized Multinational Freight Forwarding Business with own offices in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. We are looking for a new addition to our Customer Service in California, US to work within the Operations Team, focusing on our Total Customer Service philosophies

What are we looking for?

• Minimum of 3 years experience in Import or Export Freight Forwarding is a MUST
• Cargowise1 (Wisetech) experience is a PLUS
• Knowledge of Ocean or Air Freight Forwarding and the relevant international documentations is a MUST
• Knowledge of INCOTERMS is a MUST
• Ability to work autonomously on A-Z of shipments from start to finish
• Excellent Communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently
• Knowledge of a second language is a PLUS

Roles and Responsibilities:

o Register and maintain regular status of Import & Export Shipments in the Company’s system

o Coordinate Shipment Operations and Documentations with overseas agents and local service providers and meet the deadlines where applicable

o Cooperate closely with 1UP global offices, overseas agents and service providers to Identify optimal solutions for the clients’ requirements and deliver the best possible service to the customers while protecting the integrity of 1UP business

o Review, Analyze and post Accounts Payable per Shipment on a timely manner. Also find opportunities to minimize the cost

o Review, Analyze and post Accounts Receivable per shipment on a timely manner. Also find opportunities to maximize revenue while ensuring clients’ requirements are met

o Address and communicate to customers and agents any shipping issues and/or delays proactively

o Responsible for the month end closing of assigned shipments

o Responsible for all root cause analysis to achieve required KPI’s and create ideas to improve the existing process

o Provide excellent and timely customer service, under the direct supervision and advice of the department Manager

o Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by management.
