Job description
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Imports/Exports & Supply Chain Manager to oversee all import and export activities while ensuring accurate stock management across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international shipments, maintaining inventory integrity, managing supplier and freight relationships, and ensuring compliance with all relevant customs and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Import & Export Management
- Coordinate and manage all import and export shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, shipping agents, customs brokers, and suppliers.
- Ensure all shipping documentation is accurate and complete.
- Monitor shipment progress and resolve logistics-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations and trade requirements.
- Manage duties, tariffs, and import/export costs effectively.
Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock reconciliations.
- Monitor stock levels and implement effective inventory control measures.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and stock takes.
- Analyze stock movements and provide inventory reports.
- Ensure optimal stock availability while minimising excess inventory.
Reporting & Administration
- Prepare management reports on inventory, imports, exports, and logistics performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relating to stock accuracy and delivery timelines.
- Assist with budgeting and cost control within the supply chain function.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
Minimum Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Commerce, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in import/export operations and stock control.
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures, shipping documentation, and international trade regulations.
- Experience with inventory management systems and ERP software.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within a manufacturing, wholesale, or distribution environment.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
