About the Company
An established engineering and manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced IMS Coordinator to support its Quality Assurance function and assist with the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of its Integrated Management System.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining ISO-compliant systems, conducting internal and subcontractor audits, managing controlled documentation through SharePoint, supporting corrective-action processes and preparing quality, safety and environmental reports. This role is well suited to a detail-oriented Quality Assurance professional with practical experience working within a mechanical manufacturing, engineering, workshop or similar industrial environment.
Responsibilities
- Implement, maintain and continuously improve the organisation’s Integrated Management System.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Conduct internal audits of operational processes, procedures and management systems.
- Audit subcontractors and evaluate supplier and contractor performance.
- Identify non-conformances and monitor corrective and preventive actions through to closure.
- Develop, review and maintain policies, procedures, work instructions and quality documentation.
- Ensure current IMS documentation and controlled records are available on SharePoint.
- Support the implementation, administration and ongoing development of SharePoint-based management systems.
- Train employees on IMS requirements, procedures and the use of SharePoint.
- Analyse quality-related notifications and assist with the implementation of corrective measures.
- Compile quality, safety, environmental and compliance reports.
- Prepare and analyse information for management-review meetings.
- Monitor continuous-improvement initiatives and follow up with relevant departments.
- Track and ensure the timely closure of concessions and outstanding quality actions.
- Assist the Safety Officer with the preparation of site safety files.
- Support compliance with company policies, procedures and applicable health and safety legislation.
Qualifications
- Matric or an equivalent qualification.
- A technical qualification, Quality Management Diploma or related qualification.
- Certified ISO Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor training would be highly advantageous.
- At least five years’ practical experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Management Systems or Integrated Management Systems.
- Practical experience implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 systems.
- Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Internal auditing experience.
- Experience using, implementing or developing SharePoint systems.
- Experience within mechanical manufacturing, engineering, pumps and valves, heavy industry or a workshop environment.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and applicable regulations.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
