Job description
Role Overview
The Inbound Clerk is responsible for overseeing the daily warehouse operations to ensure the efficient receipt, storage, control, and distribution of stock. The role coordinates warehouse activities, supervises staff, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures that all operational processes are carried out in accordance with company policies, health and safety requirements, and service-level agreements. They play a key role in driving operational efficiency, maintaining stock integrity, and ensuring that customer and business requirements are met accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and transactions on ERP/WMS systems.
- Coordinate inbound logistics to ensure timely flow of goods.
- Monitor inbound accuracy through counts and transfer reconciliations.
- Supervise and support warehouse assistant staff to achieve productivity targets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in all warehouse activities
- Prepare regular warehouse reports, receipts, returns, decom, ageing
Desired Skills and Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- National Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Warehouse Management
- Registration with professional logistics bodies (e.g. SAPICS) is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Experience in warehouse receiving and dispatch operations 2 – 3 years
- Experience in processing WMS transactions (receipts, dispatches, stock transfers) 2 – 3 years
- QA/QC experience required in a manufacturing environment (electronic or
- metal manufacturing experience advantageous) 2 – 3 years
- General logistics or supply chain administrative experience 1 – 2 years
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, stock control, and distribution processes.
