Inbound Warehouse Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available within Logistics Support Services for an Inbound Warehouse Manager, to be based in Isando. The successful candidate will lead, control and optimize all inbound warehouse operations at the Isando Distribution Centre, ensuring the accurate, safe and efficient receiving, verification, handling and system receipting of all inbound stock.

• Reports to: Senior DC Manager
• Direct Reports: +/- 17

• Inbound operational targets consistently achieved

Reporting

• Ensure completion of daily inbound receiving and offloading reports
• Monitor vehicle turnaround time (TAT) and receiving performance
• Reconcile inbound documentation vs SAP (POs, HUs, deliveries)
• Conduct daily SAP/system health checks and resolve discrepancies
• Compile daily, weekly and monthly inbound performance reports
• Track and report on damages, shorts, overs and non-conformances

Cost Control

• Manage departmental labor and overtime in line with volumes
• Monitor MHE utilization and reduce inefficiencies (idle time, misuse) – monitor via FMX
• Control costs related to damages, pallets (CHEP) and handling
• Track and trend inbound losses, damages and operational inefficiencies

Inbound Process Control

• Oversee all receiving, offloading, checking, labeling and binning activities
• Ensure strict adherence to inbound SOPs, food safety and SHERQ standards
• Verify vehicle seals, inspections and contamination checks
• Ensure all stock is accurately checked, labeled (SKU/HU) and receipted. Each pallet must have an HU label
• Enforce pallet control processes (CHEP, returns, sorting)
• Review and update inbound SOPs as required

Stock Accuracy and Inventory Control

• Ensure physical stock matches documentation and system records
• Investigate and resolve inbound discrepancies (shorts/overs/damages
• Collaborate with Inventory Department on variances and adjustments
• Monitor labeling accuracy and scanning compliance (HU/SKU)
• Support stock counts and ensure readiness

What It Takes to Succeed:

Experience that set you up for success:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Minimum 5 years’ SAP experience (SAP R/3, WM, IM)
• MHE knowledge advantageous
• People management experience

Qualifications & Certifications that will contribute to your success:

• Completed Grade 12 (Matric) is essential
• B.Com Logistics Management will be advantageous

Additional Requirements that will enhance your impact for success:

• Overtime work will be required
• Stock count attendance is not negotiable
