Role Description The Information Technology System Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Randburg. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and related infrastructure, ensuring stable and secure operations. Daily tasks include monitoring system performance, applying updates and patches, managing user accounts and permissions, and performing backups and recovery operations. The System Administrator will provide technical support to end users, resolve hardware and software issues, and troubleshoot network connectivity problems. The role also involves documenting systems and procedures, collaborating with vendors and internal teams, and contributing to continuous improvement of IT services.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong System Administration skills, including server installation, configuration, maintenance, and backup management.
- Candidates should possess Network Administration skills, including routing, switching, firewall configuration, and network performance monitoring.
- Candidates should possess Technical Support and Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
- Candidates should possess broad Information Technology knowledge, covering operating systems, virtualisation, cloud services, and security best practices.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Microsoft, or similar qualifications are beneficial.
- Experience in on-site IT support within small to medium business environments is advantageous.
- Strong communication, documentation, and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team.
- Completed IT-related diploma or degree, or equivalent practical experience in system and network administration.
