The Opportunity

We are looking for a results-driven Input Trade Marketer who thrives in a commercial, field-based environment and understands the realities of modern farming.

This is not a desk role — it is a high-impact, relationship-driven position where you will partner directly with farmers to drive growth, optimise input solutions, and strengthen market share across your region.

You will play a critical role in driving profitability, growing the customer base, and positioning VKB as the preferred agricultural partner.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Drive Commercial Growth
    • Achieve and exceed sales targets across key product categories (seed, fertilizer, crop chemicals, animal feeds, animal health, fencing, fuel, and packaging).
      • Identify new business opportunities and unlock growth within existing accounts.
  • Farmer Relationship Management
    • Build trusted, long-term partnerships with farmers through regular on-site engagement.
      • Provide practical, value-adding input solutions aligned with seasonal and operational needs.
  • Market Execution & Strategy
    • Implement targeted marketing plans aligned to regional dynamics and crop cycles.
      • Ensure strong market presence through farmer days, events, and industry engagement.
  • Financial & Risk Management
    • Facilitate and manage input financing solutions for clients.
      • Balance commercial growth with sound credit and risk practices.
  • Operational Excellence
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment and service delivery.
      • Resolve customer queries efficiently to maintain service excellence.

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (NQF 4) – essential
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Agriculture, Marketing, or Commercial field)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in agricultural input sales or input trade marketing
  • AVCASA certification is advantageous

  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven ability to grow revenue
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills
  • Ability to operate independently in a geographically dispersed region
  • Sound decision-making under pressure
  • Practical understanding of farming operations and input application
